File Formats What you receive

All SignVectors files are delivered in SVG, AI (Adobe Illustrator), and PDF formats as standard. Files are drawn to official government specifications including MUTCD (USA), TSRGD (UK), and AS 1742 (Australia).

Editable layered files with separated components (background, border, legend, symbol) are available exclusively under the Fabrication License.

🔒
Restrictions What is not allowed

Under all license tiers, the following are strictly prohibited:

  • Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing raw vector files on stock sites, marketplaces, or competing platforms
  • Claiming ownership or authorship of SignVectors files
  • Using files in a manner that misrepresents official government standards
  • Removing, altering, or obscuring any embedded metadata or attribution notices
🏛️
Government Standards Compliance disclaimer

SignVectors files are designed to reflect published government standards such as the MUTCD. However, the user is solely responsible for verifying compliance with current local, state, or federal regulations before fabrication or installation.

Standards change over time. Always consult the latest edition of the applicable standard and any relevant jurisdiction-specific supplements before use in official traffic control applications.

⚖️
Intellectual Property Ownership & copyright

All vector artwork, file compositions, and documentation produced by SignVectors remain the intellectual property of SignVectors. A license grants usage rights — it does not transfer ownership.

Underlying government sign standards (e.g., MUTCD diagrams) are published by federal agencies and are in the public domain. SignVectors' original artwork — including precise geometric constructions, layer structures, and file formatting — is protected by copyright.

🌍
Jurisdiction Governing law

These license terms are governed by applicable copyright and intellectual property law. Any disputes arising from the use of SignVectors files shall be subject to the jurisdiction agreed upon at time of purchase or as specified in a written agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use SignVectors files in a traffic engineering report submitted to a government agency?
+
Yes. Commercial License holders may use SignVectors files in permit applications, engineering reports, environmental impact studies, and other documents submitted to local, state, or federal agencies. Standard License holders may do so for up to 5 such documents. Always verify that the sign specifications comply with the current MUTCD edition applicable to your jurisdiction.
I'm a sign fabricator. Can I use these files to produce physical signs for my clients?
+
Single-project fabrication is permitted under the Commercial License. If you need to produce signs at scale, supply files to multiple clients, or integrate our files into your production workflow on an ongoing basis, the Fabrication License is required. This covers mass production, OEM use, and redistribution within finished products.
Can I upload SignVectors files to another stock site or marketplace?
+
No. Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing raw vector files on any platform — including stock libraries, design marketplaces, or file-sharing services — is strictly prohibited under all license tiers. This applies regardless of whether the files are modified or unmodified.
Are the files guaranteed to meet current MUTCD or local regulatory standards?
+
Our files are carefully produced to reflect published standards at the time of creation. However, standards are updated periodically, and jurisdiction-specific supplements may differ from federal baselines. You are solely responsible for verifying compliance before use in any official capacity. We recommend cross-referencing with the latest FHWA or relevant authority documentation.
Do I need a separate license for each project?
+
No. A Commercial License covers unlimited end-products and projects — there's no need to purchase per project. A Standard License is limited to 5 end-product uses. The Fabrication License covers unlimited production runs and multi-site use.
Can my whole team use the files under one license?
+
Standard and Commercial licenses are for single-user use. For team or organization-wide access, please contact us to discuss a multi-seat or enterprise arrangement. We offer volume pricing for engineering firms, DOTs, and sign manufacturers.
